– Jewish Proverb

Located in the DC metro area, Rabbi Deb is the officiant for you! She works with Jewish, interfaith, multi-cultural and same-sex families to craft events and rituals that are meaningful, spiritual and welcoming.

Ordained in January 2012 from the Jewish Spiritual Leaders Institute, Rabbi Deb was trained as a Jewish Universalist rabbi. Her rabbinic formation included learning from Jewish Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist and Humanist movements. She blends these teachings to present a modern Jewish world-view that is rooted in tradition but adapted to 21st century sensibilities. She is a member in good standing of the Union of Jewish Universalist Communities and the Washington Board of Rabbis.

Rabbi Deb also serves as the Rabbi and Spiritual Advisor to the InterFaith Families Project (IFFP.org). IFFP is a community of interfaith families committed to learning, sharing and celebrating their Jewish and Christian traditions.

Rabbi Deb graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1997 with a joint degree in Law and a Master of Public Health, and spent a decade in the health policy arena before deciding to pursue rabbinic studies. In August 2016, she received a Master of Liberal Arts from Georgetown University, her work included exploring the nature of religious places on the internet.
