Located in the DC metro area, Rabbi Deb is the officiant for you! She works with Jewish, interfaith, multi-cultural and same-sex families to craft events and rituals that are meaningful, spiritual and welcoming.
Ordained in January 2012 from the Jewish Spiritual Leaders Institute, Rabbi Deb was trained as a Jewish Universalist rabbi. Her rabbinic formation included learning from Jewish Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist and Humanist movements. She blends these teachings to present a modern Jewish world-view that is rooted in tradition but adapted to 21st century sensibilities. She is a member in good standing of the Union of Jewish Universalist Congregations and the International Federation of Rabbis.
Rabbi Deb graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1997 with a joint degree in Law and a Master of Public Health, and spent a decade in the health policy arena before deciding to pursue rabbinic studies. In August 2016, she received a Master of Liberal Arts from Georgetown University, her work included exploring the nature of religious places on the internet.
